More still on FAQ #214
“Is it real or is it Photoshop?”
“Problem #1 is using the word ‘real’ as a synonym for undoctored, non-combined photographs.”
If the question “Is it real or is it Photoshop?” must be asked, this website advocates use of the term “TCQ” where most people use the term “real.”
The term “TCQ” declares that not only is the photo undoctored — which is the first thing most people are thinking when they say “real” — but also incorporates the other eight characteristics of trusted photographs (which is important because even completely “undoctored” photographs can still be deceptive).
“Anyone can use the term ‘TCQ’ as informally as they want when discussing any photos.” —Source
