On tempering viewers’ expectations
TCQ photographers should be aware that viewers may treat the “Guaranteed TCQ” label on even a single photograph as a “litmus test” for entire websites and publications that publish the label.
Such viewers would dismiss the website or publication as “untrustworthy” if the viewer finds a single doctored photo there.
That’s why viewers need to be reminded that photographs even in the same context that are not labeled “Guaranteed TCQ” should not be assumed to be TCQ.
TCQ-friendly websites and publications that want to remind their audience of this can say something as simple as,
“Photographs that are not labeled ‘Guaranteed TCQ’ should not be assumed to be TCQ.”
