contraswing, contratilt

contraswing/contratilt effects are produced when the “focus plane” is non-parallel to the “recording plane,” thus defocusing prominent areas of the photograph and producing “the toy city” look.

Regardless of whether the contraswing/ contratilt effects were produced with the camera or with software, photographs showing these effects are always disqualified from TCQ.

Note that using swing or tilt to render prominent areas of the photograph more in focus something news photographers were doing decades before the digital era does not disqualify the result from TCQ.
